Fire and Smoke Damper Inspection Company Continues to Expand Client Base

posted Thursday, 27 March 2008

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 27, 2008) – Life Safety Services, the National leader in fire and smoke damper inspection services, announced today the publication of “Fire and Smoke Dampers: Is Your Building in Compliance?” in the March 2008 issues of Buildings Magazine one of the leading publications in the Facilities Management Industry .  The article was written by Craig Rutledge, one of the owners of Life Safety Services.  The article can be found on Buildings Magazine’s website at the following link: http://www.buildingsmag.com/articles/detail.aspx?contentID=5763

“We’re excited about the publication of this article in a publication as important and widely circulated as Buildings Magazine,” said Rutledge.   “What we have found is that many facilities outside of the healthcare industry are not in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements for damper testing.  Either because the facility lacks resources to perform the inspection or is unaware that the damper code exists.  These factors combined with the importance of fire and smoke dampers as fire suppression devices in buildings makes the publication of this article that much more important; knowing that it is reaching such a wide audience in the facilities management industry can only help facilitate greater building safety.”  Already established as a leader in the Healthcare Industry for the inspection of fire and smoke dampers, Life Safety Services has started to put heightened emphasis on industries outside of healthcare to help them meet NFPA’s critical Life Safety Code® and be in compliance with the code’s fire and smoke damper testing requirements.

According to Rutledge, “We have found that industries outside of healthcare have shown great interest in our fire and smoke damper inspection services.  We are working with some of the largest property management companies in the country as well as some of the largest hotel chains to help them meet NFPA’s damper testing requirement.”  Life Safety Services also acknowledges that by growing additional market segments the company is apt to see substantial sales growth which will, in turn, reinforce the company’s ultimate goal in staying the industry leader for these services.

In 2004 and Craig Rutledge and Jack Meredith saw an opportunity to put their expertise in the fire and smoke damper inspection business to work by forming Life Safety Services (LSS). By specializing in fire and smoke damper inspections, LSS provides inspection services to facilities at an affordable price.  Life Safety Services is has become one of the top fire and smoke damper inspection companies by providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a staff of highly trained project managers and technicians.
